Loose Coupled

Updated 13 July 2008

I am in Indonesia from 14 July - 9 August. Potentially, there will be a blog of the trip here. During that period, I may be able to answer emails but I won't be able to supply any DVD orders. On my return, my latest DVD 'Viseu de Sus - Romania's Last Logging Line' will be available.

I have had two enjoyable trips, to the Harz Narrow Gauge and the Viseu de Sus logging railway in Romania. Click on the links for photo reports on both of these trips. I am working on DVDs for both of these. Four QuickTime video clips added to Viseu de Sus 30 June.

Recent DVD Productions:

Steam in Burma
Chinese Classic Steam Locations: Part 1
Nanpiao, Huludao and Meihekou
Steam Locomotives in Cuba DVDs 1-3 & NG only DVD

*Loose coupled is defined as 'Railway vehicles which have no continuous brakes and are coupled by loose links of a chain or Instanter couplings.' Loose coupled sums up the kind of trains I like.

This website http://www.users.waitrose.com/~jraby/ is now my main website and http://homepage.ntlworld.com/john.raby1/ will be used only for video clips and items on which regular updates are not planned. This changeover has unearthed some lost and forgotten pages without links which will now be re-integrated into the site. For anyone who is interested in a bit of nostalgia, I'll list the pages that have been rediscovered here:

Images from Tiefa, Shuangyashan and Jingpeng. The first two will eventually appear on a DVD perhaps in my Classic Chinese Steam Location series.
