Press Release

Round 2 - Venue change

30/05/02

Although the new Northern England site on military land was booked over five months ago, we have now found that it has been double booked. Despite the Army’s efforts to persuade the other party to change its dates, they have refused. This is entirely out of our hands as we are sure you will appreciate.

We know that you will thoroughly enjoy the new site in the Leeds area and so, rather than lose this site completely, it has been decided to swap the rounds and so the second round of the Goodyear MSA British Off Road Championship will therefore now be held at Glynneath in South Wales.

You will also be pleased to know that work on re-grading the tracks at Glynneath has begun so they will be ready well before the 15/16 June.

We do hope that this change in venue will not cause too much inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you there.

Goodyear MSA British Off Road Championship

  • April 20/21 Tunbridge Wells - A testing multi-terrain course providing a unique and privileged opportunity to compete across one of the finest country estates in Kent.
  • June 15/16 Glynneath -  Blending Rally GB tracks with rutted fire breaks there is always a surprise at Glynneath and now with more land available in the already extensive complex, you ain't seen nothing yet!
  • July 27/28 Perth, Scotland - A week after the fabulous Scottish Hillrally, the perfect opportunity to enjoy Scotland at its best.
  • Sept 21/22 Swindon - Likened to the fast and furious terrain used on the Southern Hillrallies, hold on tight!
  • October 26/27 Leeds - Another new site to off road motorsport and another new challenge for an exciting final round.
