Paul Choat

Reigning MSA British Off Road Championship is returning in 2002 to try and retain his crown.  Paul has appeared on the podium many times and is now getting a taste for picking up the top prize in off road motorsport in the UK.  2000 was the second time that Paul has won the British championship in his ex-Stephanie Simmonite Simmbugghini.

For 2002 Paul faces one of his toughest challenges yet.  Many top names in off road racing in the UK have already signed up for the Goodyear British Off Road Championship and Paul Choat will have to push very hard if he is to retain his title.

Paul got off to a good start at the first round near Tunbridge Wells.  After a close fight throughout day one and into the morning of day two with the experienced husband and wife team, Keith and Sally Lewis (Simmbugghini), Paul Choat led.  Day two saw the challenge taken up by Richard Kershaw in his Amaterati culminating in a close win by Choat with only a matter of seconds in hand over Richard Kershaw.

Niggling mechanical problems have dogged Paul in 2001, he has shown he still has the pace at round one in Eridge Park to mount a very serious challenge for the title.
