Mick Gillett

Mick Gillett is one of the sport's great characters.  Heralding from the Midland's Mick has lead his vast support team right around the country in search of  Hillrally success for many years.

Famed originally for his prowess in a leaf sprung vehicle, Mick has humbled many of the coil sprung proponents, before moving on to great success in the modified production class with a Land Rover 90.

Now equipped with much more up-to-date technology in the form of the ex-Chris Hammond Simmbugghini Mick is ready to tackle the front runners.  As a result of the shortened season in 2001 we haven't yet seen what Mick is capable of with the right machinery.  His attempt at the 2000 Hillrally was dogged with mechanical teething problems, but his result on the ORM Virtual Hillrally is surely a pointer to the future.

Mick secured a fantastic second on the Salisbury Plain event eclipsing many more favoured drivers.  I, for one, cannot wait to see how he gets on with the Goodyear British Off Road Championship.
