Colin is aiming to be the first ever driver to win the series overall in a car that can be driven straight out of the showroom. With the backing of Mitsubishi Motors and with two year’s of experience under his belt, if any one can then Colin can!

Read, together with his co-driver, Chris Eade, will be aiming for nothing less than a repeat performance of their impressive run in round one at Radnor, Mid Wales, where they finished fifth overall and dominated all categories for production specification cars.

Colin knew that the going was going to be harder at round two. The rough Ellesmere course played to all the strengths of the specialist buggies. Ninth place with a near standard car is not to be sniffed at, but Colin will have wanted better for the rest of the season.   The fast gravel tracks in Scotland should have suited Read’s attacking style, but he might have pushed just a little too hard and an off saw them demoted to eighth.

Tunbridge will give them the chance to catch up though as the grass parklands should also work in the Mitsubishi driver's favour and the Shogun Warrior should be able to show its true potential.

One of only two "works-supported" teams in this year’s Goodyear British Off Road Championship and one of the revelations. In 2002 and 2003 Colin wheeled his diminuitive 1.8 litre Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin, to a substantial number of class wins, winning the class more often than anyone else.  In the process, Colin and the Pinin, often finished ahead of all the super production class runners, which often included 4.6 litre V8 Land Rovers.

A former rally driver, Colin Read now specialises in teaching people to drive off road and competitively.
