Scottish 4x4 Festival

Sunday 23rd September 2001

The organisers of the Goodyear British Off Road Championship have secured the use of some of the excellent terrain that forms part of the Scottish Hillrally for the third of their non-championship "4x4 Festival" series.

The event is to be held at Athronhall, Milnathort Perthshire on Sunday 23 September 2001.

The stage has been designed, mapped and measured at 5 miles, there will be 10 laps giving 50 competitive miles.

Entry fee is £50 including Saturday night camping. There will be no drive round but entrants are free to walk  the course. Scrutineering will take place on Saturday afternoon evening.

We are looking for help to run the event. Both setting up. Marshal, Radio crews (MSA 86) and SRV crews.

The event has a half mile thin strip of land acting as start and finish straight. The route then climbs up a narrow  track onto the moor. Open grass land with old grass tracks are the main surfaces used.  The finish prior to the straight is a steep down hill descent.  Most of the land has been used as a stage within the Scottish Hillrally.

There is a high expectation that Grampian Television will cover the event.
