This year we asked a special guest to present awards: John Offord (on right above) was a Beaumont RC member in the '80s and '90s and still holds the record for the fastest marathon time by anyone from Leicestershire - that's 2hr 13min. However he is also remembered as an inspirational coach; his training helped contemporary Club members to remarkable performances - and played no little part in putting Beaumont at the forefront of county clubs.

Here Terry Simms (ex-President of Beaumont RC and currently LOROS represenative ) holds aloft Beaumont's cheque for £550 that John Offord presented to the charity (Chairman John Baldwin mediates centre-stage). This amount was raised by a guess-the-distance-run competition and donations at the 2011 Anniversary Relay. We raised more money than last year and (pro rata, given that the Relay is now a 12-hour event) receipts compared well with any previous year
