The Quaysiders (known as the Q's) is an amateur dramatic group based in Lowestoft, Suffolk. We meet twice a week for rehearsals at 7.30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday evenings at The Links Club, Links Road, Lowestoft - or between productions for social events. Our production of Steel Magnolias was very well received and we are now looking forward to our next production in the autumn of 2008 of "Pygmalion". Auditions for "Pygmalion" have now taken place and the cast is as follows:- Rehearsals are going well, and the production will take place at the Seagull Theatre, Morton Road, Pakefield, Lowestoft on Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th November at 7.30 p.m. plus a matinee on Saturday at 2.30 p.m. Tickets are £10 each and can be booked on 01502 572973 or 01502 566186. If you would be interested in either taking a part or helping backstage for productions in general please e-mail our secretary for details Our Annual General Meeting took place in October 2007 at the Links Club, Links Road, Lowestoft, when subscriptions became due, and a Chairman and Committee were elected. These meet approximately once a month. At the moment our Chairperson is Keith Osmond, our Secretary Julie Kent and our Treasurer Di Bettinson. If any members would be interested in joining the committee please contact the secretary for details.. Would you like to join us? The annual subscription is £25; and £2 for every time you come to a rehearsal or social event, but this covers refreshments, - a choice of tea or coffee and biscuits. You don't have to act, there are backstage jobs galore - all you need is enthusiasm. Any age or sex is welcome (we do have a lower age limit I'm afraid) If you fancy joining a small but friendly club where you'll be made very welcome (previous experience not necessary) please drop us an e-mail for details.
