Waterfront House, has been built on the site where Sir Christopher Cockerel developed the Hovercraft. It looks onto Southampton Water and the leisure and commercial shipping that ply its waters. It is a mews type house built on three levels, set in a square of tastefully designed properties within the Hythe town centre heritage area and only a few minutes walk from village shops, amenities and public transport including the Victorian pier and the oldest working pier train in the world and ferryboat to Southampton.

 

Accommodation:

 

The house can accommodate up to 5 people in comfortable surroundings. There is off road parking for one vehicle (other cars can be parked nearby) and at the rear is an enclosed patio garden, adjacent to the waterfront (see picture bottom left). Centrally heated throughout the accommodation includes:

 

Ground Floor; Kitchen, Dining Room, Cloakroom

First Floor; Lounge, Master Bedroom, Study

Second Floor; Bedrooms 2 and 3, Bathroom

 

Kitchen: Cooking is by electricity comprising a halogen hob, eye-level ovens and a microwave. There is a refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. Washing and ironing facilities include the normal equipment. The washing machine has a dryer, but clothes can be also dried outside on a rotary.

Lounge; This room and the adjacent balcony look onto the water and is equipped with television, dvd and audio reception. There is a log effect electric fire for use in cooler evenings in spring and autumn and some books and dvds are available for visitors to use in the study.

Bedrooms: The Master Bedroom has a double bed with en-suite shower, WC and washbasin. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and Bedroom 3, which looks onto the water, a single bed. The bathroom has bath, washbasin and WC.

Telephone: The property is connected to the BT telephone network and you may make calls within the UK. The cost of any such calls will be recovered from the Utility Deposit — see under Arrangements.
