International Journal of Ambient Energy

The International Journal of Ambient Energy is a forum for the worldwide dissemination of new information on self-regenerating sources of energy and their potential use to serve the needs of Man. In the developed world people and Governments are increasingly aware of the need to develop sources of energy to replace our reliance on fossil fuels and to supply an increasing demand for energy. The evidence for global warming and the need to substantially reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by reducing fossil fuel use is almost universally accepted. There are just two ways this can be achieved, nuclear energy and renewable energy - hydro, wind, biomass, solar, photovoltaic, tidal, wave and geothermal. Producing usable power from renewable sources of energy is the subject for active research and development worldwide and policies which support renewables are being developed in many countries. The International Journal of Ambient Energy documents the research and development dealing both with technical innovation and policy issues

The largest single use of energy in many countries is for environmental control in buildings. The application of ambient energy for this purpose receives particular emphasis in the International Journal of Ambient Energy which covers the design and construction of buildings and complexes to utilise natural energy sources as well as technical information on design and performance of the heating, hot water and air conditioning systems required to make practical use of the energy available.
