November 2001


Breast Cancer Care The club were pleased to vote a donation of £500 to the District Governor's wife's charity to purchase breast boards for Mount Vernon Hospital.
2Care A donation of £250 was approved.
Abingdon Child Contact Centre The club approved a donation of £200.
Millenium Environment Debate A donation of £150 was made.
Abingdon Stroke Club The club voted to donate £200.

October 2001


TACADE The club agreed to purchase TACADE sets for the 24 schools in the Abingdon Schools Partnership at a cost of £4416.20 and provide refreshments for their meeting at at cost of £180. A giant cheque was presented at their AGM on 9th November.
Abingdon Gala The following donations were made to organisations in recognition of their help in running the Abingdon Gala: Abingdon Round Table £500, Grove Day Centre £250, St John's Ambulance £250, Abingdon Army Cadets £200 plus £65 for tee shirts, Kennington Band £100, Radley Gym Club £100, £50 to local scouts and £50 to John Mason School Council.

Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre We have donated £500 to the fund to build a new Hydrotherapy pool.
Oxford Play Bus The club agreed a donation of £100.
Vale House A donation of £250 was agreed.
Guide Dogs for the Blind The club agreed to sponsor a young lady about to embark on the Trek Nepal Challenge 2001 to raise funds for the GDFTB.

August 2001


Fire Victims' Support Unit A donation of £1050 was made to purchases three radios and a provision of toiletries, bags, etc plus a donation to the Fireman's Benevolent Fund.

July 2001


Edward's Trust The club made a further donation of £100 to care for children and families during bereavement.

April 2001


REACT The club were very pleased to donate £500 to the chosen charity of the DG's wife, Lion Brigid Hendy.
Marcham Road Hospital The club agreed to donate £525 for the purchase of a power pack for a standing frame
2 Care The club have donated £250 to assist in a holiday for clients
Mexican Team Challenge The club agreed to donate £150 to a teenager to assist in her travel expenses to Mexico where she will be assisting with conservation work for the benefit of the local community.

Hearing Dogs The club agreed to donate £500 to the zone project for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
TACADE The club agreed to support the Abingdon Schools Partnership new TACADE programme.

February 2001


MS Oxygen Chamber The club agreed to purchase two special chairs at a cost of £200 each for use by patients in an oxygen chamber operated by the MS Society.

January 2001


Christmas Float The club approved donations of £200 to the Abingdon branch of the NSPCC, £150 to Abingdon Round Table, £100 to Thomas Reade School PTA and £75 to Hadland Road School PTA for their assistance in collecting with the Christmas Float around the houses in Abingdon.
