October 2003


Larkmead School The club made a donation of £150 to a student from Larkmead School to assist in her travel expenses for a school expedition.

September 2003


Abingdon Community Hospital The club made a commitment to assist Abingdon Community Hospital in the purchase of a Renault Espace converted for easy access by wheelchair users from the proceeds of the Gala. A donation of £4000 was made to this worthy cause.
Abingdon Gala The club made donations to the following organsations in recognition of their assistance in running the Gala: Wantage and Grove Lions £100, St John's Ambulance £100, NSPCC £50, Kennington Band £100, Abingdon Army Cadets £200, Stroke Club £75, Abingdon Round Table £300 and Larkmead School £75.

August 2003


Edward's Trust The club voted a donation of £100 to Edward's Trust who provide help to families.

April 2003


St Helen's Church The club voted a donation of £450 towards the St Helen's Church Redevelopment Project which aims to alter the church so that it may also be used for many community activities. This is in addition to the £450 already raised for this project by the Brains of Abingdon.
Fountain House The club voted up to £100 to replace a video tape recorder that was stolen from this sheltered accommodation.

2Care A further donation of £250 was approved.

January 2003


Christmas Float Abingdon Lions received assistance from several other organisations in manning the Christmas Float. Consequently we are pleased to make the following donations in recognition of that help: Abingdon Round Table £660, Abingdon NSPCC £195, Oxfordshire NSPCC £320, Oxford Isis Lions £100, Radley Football Club £120, Riverside Pre-School £180, Thomas Reade School £195, Wallingford District Lions £175, a total of £1945. We thank you all very much.
Alzheimer Club The club voted to donate £350 to the Abingdon Alzheimer's Club which is located at Abingdon Hospital.
