The LighthouseOn the Cote d'Azur in the heart of Provence "The Lighthouse" overlooks this romantic fishing port. Beaches, restaurants and the delights of the market square are easy to discover from this central location. Here you can have fun cooking while looking out to sea, or enjoy relaxing on the southern balcony. Exceptional views of the azure blue sea lead to the main beach that is sandy and safe. Inviting restaurants and bars that spill out onto the streets surrounding the market square. All this is a convenient three-minute walk away, around a classic Mediterranean port. Large windows and high ceilings give this newly renovated apartment a light and airy feel. From the open plan granite kitchen to the Roman tiled bathroom, all is well equipped and convenient. There is a large northern terrace where it is great to eat, around a mosaic table, or sunbathe. Location
The apartment is on the first floor accessed from the road behind, but when viewed from the sea it is on the 4th floor of an Art Deco residential building. Overlooking the port entrance, it’s great to watch the boats slip out to sea or return after an early morning fish.
Situated at the quiet end of the port, and in-between Cassis’ two main beaches. Both are no more than two minutes walk away. The classic Provencal town centre is 100 meters away. Every thing is easily done on foot, making the use of a car unnecessary.
Cassis and things to do
The Callanques, a national park, are Provencal fjords with crystal clear green water. Framed by white lime stone cliffs and the deep blue of the ocean, secret beaches await discovery. It’s easy to catch a boat from Cassis (they leave every half hour) and be dropped off in a Callanques, where it is fun to picnic, dive and sunbathe.
A renowned diving spot with Roman wrecks, preserved flora and fauna is a half hour boat trip out to sea. The Callanques is a world famous rock-climbing site. Even if you do not climb it is always amusing to watch climbers struggle up the cliffs. Cassis produces a famous white wine the result of a long tradition since 600 BC. Various Chateaux welcome wine lovers and offer free tasting.
Fun day trips are close at hand in Marseille, an ancient Phoenician port, or Aix where music and dance festivals take place.

Hello from the owner
I first fell in love with Cassis in 1990 when on a rock climbing trip. 16 years on I am still discovering new gems in this historic town and in the Callanques. It is one of the truly unspoilt parts of the Cote d’Azur. Thanks to the national park, medieval castle and the famous vineyards, property developers have been kept out and Cassis has retained its 16th and 18th century architecture.
Victor Parsons is a truly charming and helpful
man who will meet you and look after you. I hope I have drawn you a
full and accurate picture of what Cassis and the Apartment is like.
