A
few doors up from Newsons, at Number 36 Market Place, we discovered
The Grosvenor Restaurant, a pleasant café where one could
partake
of morning coffee or afternoon tea. All very civilised with crisp white
tablecloths and smart waitresses in black dresses with lacy white aprons.
When
we were first married, my wifes parents from Birmingham came to
visit for a week or so. Whilst I was at work she took them to the Grosvenor
for morning coffee. It seems they were quite impressed!
Now,
an off-licence called Moonshine, the building still makes
a living for
someone and still sells beverages, but now of a much stronger sort!
