| Reflected in a rock pool, Cromer Church stands proudly separating two hotels; on left is the Metropole and on the right the Hotel De Paris. The latter still remains to this day, but the Metropole was demolished many years ago to make way for a series of shops. Nearby, in the early 1960s, was a building on the seafront which, housed a restaurant known as The Salad Bowl. Below, in the dark basement, local young people met to enjoy the very latest in pop music played on a jukebox, whilst supping nothing stronger than CocaCola! |
