THE MARLBOROUGH HOTEL
Hotel Marlborough, Cromer.

Quite an old view of the Marlborough Hotel as can be seen from
the veteran cars and motorcycles parked outside, although they
were probably new – and the owners’ pride and joy – when this
photograph was taken. A majestic hotel in its day, with an
imposing onion dome, that was quite a landmark from the top end
of the Runton road, and an establishment that carried the ‘AA’
seal of approval. It is sad to see no mention made of the
Marlborough in the 1958/59 Members’ Handbook, but, by then,
the hotel had fallen victim to the demolition crew and the site was
redeveloped. Today, in its place, is a petrol filling station.
