Popular
with the visitors and townsfolk alike, the ponies take a
well-deserved break from giving rides to the children, whilst a
small crowd of onlookers gather perhaps in anticipation of a
forthcoming trip. This was a regular attraction during the summer
months, and the ponies were often to be seen taking their charges
for a leisurely tour of the Boulevard, starting and ending near the
Bridge, which housed the public conveniences, on the Esplanade.
