MEMBERSHIP
TARGETS
The
2006 recruitment campaign has been a success. Although we
didn’t quite achieve the target of 530 Ordinary members
(got to 527), the Management Committee decided NOT
to apply the £26 supplement to the £399 subscription
as agreed at the 2005 AGM.

The
Mitchell Trophy
The
50th Mitchell was a great success – thanks and well
done to the Mitchell committee: John Mitchell; Willie Adamson;
David Adamson; Gordon Bathgate; Mary Wardrop
The
Junior ‘A’ team, captained by Ross Gibson, won
the Mitchell Trophy, and very well done to you all.
Runners-up were the Meadowfield Maestros, 3rd - Mitchell’s
Marauders, and 4th the Ladies ‘A’ team.

CHEFS
Michael
Smith and David Jackson are enjoying job-sharing the food
service operation; these arrangements will continue until
an end-of-season review.
|
|
A
special shotgun 2-ball strokeplay on the final Sunday for
all the week’s losing teams was a real winner with
everyone, but especially for the Junior ‘B’
team, who waltzed clear of everyone else with a combined
nett score of 128!
The
Mitchell is unique – BGHC’s team competition
for men, women and youngsters. If you’ve never played
in it, you’ll love it. If you have played, see you
again next year!

PRIZE
DRAW SPENDING
A
plantation cutter has been bought from the proceeds of the
Christmas prize draw. We’ve all noticed how much neater
the course looks (and how much easier it is to find a ball)
with the plantation grass cut to normal “rough”
length, but it is a really time-consuming job of work keeping
it that way. The special cutter makes the task much easier.

Lady
Champion of Champions
A
great response from Fife’s clubs to the idea of this
competition means that it will definitely go ahead on.
Sunday
1st October, starting 11am.
We
hope to attract a big entry of excellent Lady golfers and
spectators will be most welcome!
