Why not get in touch with Royal Air Force Halton Aircraft Apprentices Association (RAFHAAA)? The association has approximately 3500 members, holds a major reunion at Halton every three years, next one is scheduled for September 2007. The RAFHAA publishes a magazine called, "The Haltonian", twice a year. In addition a Newsletter sent out two or three times a year to all members. It also performs the vital function of bringing ex Apprentices together in renewed comradeship. The RAFHAAA is also a registered charity.
The Association may be able to assist you in making contact with other members of your Entry, most of whom now have their own Entry Association.

3. There are some excellent pictures taken on the 75th website. at the 2007 Reunion.
4. I've recently had a request from the the 'Buckler Register'
asking for info about the Halton Buckler.
In case you don't know, the Halton Buckler was a sports Car, bought
in Kit form which was purchased as a project for the Halton Motor
Club in the Early Fifties. The info required is what eventually
happened to the Halton Buckler? Someone out there must know where
it finished up.
The Secretary of the Buckler register can be contacted at David.MontgomeryATwaitrose.com
(replace AT by @ - anti-spam measure).

THE HALTONIAN
Journal of the Royal Air Force Halton Aircraft Apprentices Association
This magazine is written by ex-Halton brats for ex-Halton brats
and makes no apology for being full of nostalgia, news, and views
of the membership, and reports of Entry and Branch activities.
It has a twice yearly, world wide, circulation approaching 4,000
copies. If you are not already a member of the RAFHAAA then this
alone is a good enough reason for joining. Elsewhere on this website
there is an application form. Why not download it and 'come in
out of the rain'? You'll not regret it. The Editor is Bill Kelley,
55th, who welcomes articles and comment from anyone who can find
the time to put pen to paper or, in these IT times, tap it out
on the old PC. The address is:

The two views above show the front and reverse faces of, 'The Tribute' , which is located in front of Kermode Hall, previously known as 'The Schools'.
The text on the front face, left side, reads, "This sculpture celebrates the Apprentice Scheme started by the Lord Trenchard at No. 1 School of Technical Training. Over 40,000 boys many from Commonwealth and Foreign Air Forces and from the Royal Navy, all affectionately known as, "Trenchard's Brats", graduated from Halton between 1922 and 1993". The right side reads, "This sculpture represents the brass cube test job undertaken by Apprentices during their training and incorporates the, "Wheel Badge", which was worn proudly by generations of Apprentices". On the reverse side appears the following, "1922 - 1997", "No. 1 School of Technical Training R.A.F. Halton", "This Tribute was unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II , 31 October 1997".
The Tribute was designed by David Howells of the 29th Entry and is executed in granite.

The linked Entries are to be congratulated, firstly for producing a site and secondly for telling me about it! So what about the others? If your Entry has an association, you really do need a website, it is amazing how on occasions your lost souls actually find you via your website. So, come on troops, get someone in your lot to get cracking and produce one! What is it about most of the entries from the low 100s to the end of the apprentice sheme, don't they have the time to produce a website, it can't be lack of ability, surely? If you have a site and are not on this list, then you obviously haven't told me about it, so finger out and email.
