Penny Cup Competition

PENNY CUP ANNUAL VIDEO COMPETITION

WEYMOUTH CINE AND VIDEO CLUB
held their Annual Penny Cup Competition early in March, which attracted 10 entries from various clubs from London to Cornwall, all of which were shown on the Night, making a most interesting and varied programme. JUDGES are drawn from non-club members who have had a connection with film making over the years. This year the judges were Trevor Matthews retired TV Cameraman, Robert Fisher-Hall Actor and Charlie Phillips a keen film-maker right from the days when only ‘film’ was available. RESULTS OF 2009 COMPETITION

The winner this year was ‘The Picture’ from Devises Video Club which also won the Best Drama Award.

Second was ‘All The Way To The Top’ from Frome, Third was ‘The Census Taker’ from Spring Park Film Makers. The judges thought ‘Fusion Power’ from Reading Film and Video Makers should have a mention so they placed it fourth.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the entries I think the standard was the best we have seen for quite a while.

WEYMOUTH CINE AND VIDEO CLUB would like to thank all the Clubs whose members sent in entries which made 2009 a most enjoyable competition.
