LNER J50/3 0-6-0T with GWR 7 plank open. O gauge models.
|
| The J50 was painted to represent
"working clean", a locomotive not long out of
works but with dirt beginning to build up, toning down
its paintwork. The open wagon is almost devoid of paint,
showing bare wood and rusting metalwork. The black panels
added by BR to carry the lettering seem to be the only
paint, but look closely, there are traces of grey
lingering on some of the strapping and corner plates. The timbers of the road crossing were "stained" with thinned dark brown enamel and then glass-papered but leaving the edges darker, where traffic would be less. |
