My client had bought this model at an auction. An excellent model but it had been very crudely weathered with an all-over dusty brown spray. He asked me to rescue the paint finish and then weather it more realistically. |

Most of the original "weathering" was removed leaving the green areas and many black sections looking cleaned. The top of the smokebox, boiler, firebox and cab were sprayed with a layer of sooty black. The wheels and motion were brush painted with a gloss mixture to look like the glistening oily finish so typical of well maintained locos in service. |
