The wagon was received painted in LMS livery, but unweathered. The client asked for a lightly weathered finish. After I had protected the transfers with matt varnish I toned down the livery with washes and used dry-brushing to accentuate detail. Particular attention was paid to the white handrails which are far too prominent on a "clean" brake van. A final light spray of grime was added to the finish. |
