You must give 4 weeks notice to the Cohousing Community that you intend to sell your house. You decide on the price, taking advice form Estate Agents etc. After the 4 weeks notice period, you can sell your house on the open market. However you must give the community a final 1 week’s notice before you exchange contracts. This is to allow them to match the price. If you want to lower the price you must again give 4 weeks’ notice. In practice, we expect there to be a waiting list of families who are already known to the community.
