![]() There was a Primitive Methodist meeting in a dwelling house in Dark Lane in 1851. There were reported to be 98 worshippers at their morning service and 137 at their evening one. Permission was granted in 1863 to build a chapel. The Primitives built a brick chapel just over the boundary into Shifnal parish in 1865. It was erected largely due to the labours of two men, Thomas Tart & William Withington. The chapel closed c. 1971 and was demolished for the coming of Telford new town, for it was decided to build the town centre on land which included the site of the chapel.
