[former] Bent Lane Primitive Methodist Chapel, Ditton Priors [former] Bent Lane Primitive Methodist Chapel, Hillside, Ditton Priors
There is a datestone with a feint inscription which says "PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHAPEL ERECTED AD 18-- RESTORED 1903", under the eaves. It was proposed as early as 1835 to build a chapel at Bent Lane. There is a conveyance for the chapel dated 1859 in Shropshire Achives. The chapel was built in 1859 and the first service was held on 1st January 1860. The chapel was 27 ft long and 21 ft wide. The site on which the chapel was built was given by Mr S. Humphries, and the stone was given by Mr Thomas. The chapel was licensed for the solemnization of marriages on the 22nd October 1929. The chapel has ceased to be used for religious purposes. It was sold in 1996, and de-registered as a place of religious worship in March 1997. In 2002 was being used for storage.
