![]() Ænon Baptist Chapel was erected in 1844 for a congregation (formed by 1820) which had previously met at "The Rolla" i.e. Rolly Farm near Osbaston. In the 1851 Religious Census the chapel was reported to have seating for 87 worshippers. There were 35 at their afternoon service and 43 at the evening service. Due to loss of membership, the chapel closed in 1976 and was demolished in the 1980s. The village hall now occupies part of the site. Unfortunately I do not have a photograph of this chapel, but old O.S. maps show where it was. Grid ref: SJ 303212 |
