The local Primitive Methodists had a cottage meeting here before building a chapel in 1869. Earl Granville gave the site on which to build a chapel and the foundation stones were laid on Monday 20th September 1869. The chapel cost about 200 to build and would seat about 150 worshippers. The chapel closed c. 1925 and was demolished in 1926.
