SHROPSHIRE'S NONCONFORMIST CHAPELS

[former] Primrose Bank Primitive Methodist Chapel [former] Primrose Bank Primitive Methodist Chapel
Alas, this chapel has been demolished. However, someone thought fit to commemorate its existence with a plaque (containing an incorrect date of opening). Local Primitive Methodists laboured for over 30 years before being able to buy a plot of land on which to build a chapel. The chapel was built at a cost of 110 in 1860 and the opening service was held on 30th December of that year. The chapel was registered as a place of worship on 16th February 1861. The chapel was 27 feet long and 19 feet wide. The chapel was re-seated and renovated in 1892 and re-opened in June of that year. It closed in 1953. The chapel was de-registered as a place of worship on 15th February 1963 When I obtain a photograph of the chapel as it was when it was standing, I'll put it up here.
