[former] Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Shineton Street, Much Wenlock
The Wesleyans were preaching regularly in Much Wenlock by 1813 and in 1815 had 10 members. They bought a site for a chapel in Shineton Street (approached by a narrow lane off the street) in 1819, and by 1825 had erected a plain stone chapel, described in 1851 as "small". In the 1851 Religious Census they had 28 worshippers at their afternoon service and 46 at their evening one. The chapel was registered for the solemnization of marriages on 21 July 1919. The chapel closed in 1960 & was de-registered as a place of worship on 9th November 1961. By the early 1980s the building was in commercial use and is now (2019) occupied by the Wenlock Pottery.
