Other comments:
The most famous and most popular of all English apples. Still the most popular variety at Cross Lanes, the Cox has a strength and depth of flavour unmatched in any other variety. However, be wary of Queen Cox, a variant of the variety often sold as 'Cox' but which lacks the characteristic strength of flavour. Needless to say, at Cross Lanes we do not grow the Queen Cox variant so you can rest assured that Cox bought here will be Cox's Orange Pippin.
