Available: mid September Raised: 1966, East Malling Research Centre, England Flavour: at first very crisp, juicy with an acid bite. Then sweetens. Storage: till late November but softens Size: large Cross: James Grieve X Golden Delicious

Other comments:
The British answer to Golden Delicious but with much more taste and texture. Really a very fine variety when eaten soon after picking. As texture fades the flavour does grow though, and some like to eat it well into November.
