| Our Farm Shop is open from
Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm in season. The season start in late
August and ends at Christmas.
The majority of our trade is through our Farm Shop and we give it our highest priority. Our service is friendly and informed- most of the assistants know a lot about fruit and how it is grown at Cross Lanes, all will have a good understanding of the fruit in stock. Our prices are very competitive, we do aim to be cheaper than all local supermarkets, but quality is our major concern and we do not sacrifice this for anything. Through the season we sell all the different varieties grown at Cross Lanes so each time you visit there will be different ones to try! We have a number of varieties grown in large quantities which will be available for many months (Cox Orange Pippin from early October to Christmas or Katy from late August until late September) but many others which will only be available for a week or so until the next one is ready.
The 'how to find us' page gives details of where we are and how to get here, however if you can't we do attend a number of local Farmers Markets. We attend these at:
Markets marked * are run by the Thames Valley Farmers Markets cooperative (TVFM) of which Cross Lanes is an accredited member. To visit their site click here. Farmer's Markets are based around farmers going to a market in their local town to sell their goods direct. Many councils are supporting the idea in relation to Britain's obligations under Agenda 21 from the Rio de Janeiro summit to source more food locally. To find out if your town is holding a farmers market visit your council's website. Others are run by individuals or other organisations.
