Often in the Spring, Cross Lanes opened the gates to invite people to enjoy the wonderful apple blossom. The day wa held in aid of a local charity. This was a day to wander round and see the orchard at its best, full of expectation of the crop to come. Fixing a date was always tricky with full bloom having varied from 19 April to 23 May with an average around 6th May. There will bo no more Blossom Days here.
