The owner of Cross Lanes, Gill Franklin, does talks and walks for interested parties whether it be a group of friends, schools, an organised general interest group such as a WI or Rotary Club or a specialist Gardening Group.

TALKS
Talks can last anything from half an hour to an evening! Gill does not use slides and aims to give an interesting and informative talk using props from the orchard itself. The topics are many but may include the history of apples, varieties, the fruit growers' year and personal experiences of running a fruit farm. If in season an alternative is to have a tasting session. Bags of apples and freshly pressed juice can also be brought along for sale.

SCHOOL VISITS
Visits can be arranged for classes of all ages, lasting from an hour or two to a half day or more. The visit may consist of an orchard walk and apple tasting or can be tailored to any topics of the National Curriculum. Gill Franklin escorts the visits and is accredited under the ACCESS TO FARMS scheme.

PRUNING COURSES
In January and February we offer pruning courses. These are for individuals with trees in the garden or for professional gardeners. Tailor made courses may be arranged for groups of 12 or more.
