I doubt if anyone remembers me. I taught art 1972-1973. I also did a bit of
geography.
I remember Mrs Martin, Mr Chowdrey and some people who at the moment have
names that escape me.
I am a principal of a school in New Zealand and look back fondly on my short
time at Frances Bardsley (Heath Park).

There seems to be very little contact from anyone who attended the school when
I did 1963-1970. The teacher with a dog in her bicycle basket who Molly Laird
remembers was Miss Harris who taught music and was Deputy Head for my first year.
Janet Paige's memory of a school play may have been the one I remember where all
the characters had the names of gemstones - Chrysoprase was the one I remember
because I'd never heard of it and still can't spell it. Memories of being taught
to sit absolutely still for 30 minutes at a time by Miss Bubbers, and of her
walking the corridors to check on the 6th Formers doing prep at desks in the
corridors - total silence. I also painted the face of a grandfather clock which
stood on the main staircase but would suspect that went a long time ago.
Miss Mulholland was Head for the last year I was there, before it became
comprehensive. I remember Miss Townsend walking off her podium during a
lesson and stepping into the waste-paper basket, and carrying on from there, and
we managed not to make a sound!

Hello to anybody who remembers me, I was in Rowan
House. Would like to hear from anyone who was at school with me, my
email address is mcnichollclaire@hotmail.com. I am now married and
living in Spain, no children but 5 dogs and 8 cats. Am working for a
holiday company as a legal advisor. Had a great time during my
school years, though did not seem to learn a great deal. Love to
hear from anybody. |

I was in Hunt House. I remember Miss Mulholland as the
head teacher and our daily assemblies. I too remember Miss Townsend,
but she did enable me to learn how to take very quick notes! Still
not a great history fan though. Remember Sue Jennings, Diana
Sidebotham (who was my bridesmaid)Sarah Morton. I still see Mary
Dedman who lives near me in Ealing.I also can remember going to
Germany with the choir to Ludwigshaven on an exchange trip.any one
else have any memories? Can be contacted on

I came to Canada with my parents in Nov. l946, but
with great sadness, at the age of 12, leaving my wonderful school.
My home room teacher was Miss Monday. Miss Walters (Waters) was head
mistress. I remember many names of girls who were in my class. Would
love to hear any news or any contact of students of those years. I
live on Vancouver Island with my husband. Hoping to get a reply of
some kind. Am so excited to find the school. I am very new to the
computer world. Yours truly, Marlene |

Enjoyed reading your comments! One or two names
familiar but can't put a face to them. I remember 2 order marks
equalled 1 detention. My father always said I should have been
better at spelling considering the time I spent in detention
learning that week`s 100 best words! As Chairwoman of the Friends I
HAVE to appeal to you ALL (HPS & RCHS) to join, as so many of our
members do not have access to the net & would love to hear from
you via our Newsletter. |

Unfortunately it was only several years after I left
that I realised what an excellent school RCHS was. Amongst the
teachers, I particularly remember Miss Kingzett, who taught English
and Miss Smith who took us for art. I also have good memories of
Fraulein Hönneger who took German.
It's true what they say that with age your
memory for youth comes back because I can remember that time so
clearly now I have time to think of it! Is there anyone out there:
Betty Secker, Eve Dickenson, Eunice Collins, Barbara Jackson, and
others whose names I can't remember. I am now retired in a little
hamlet in France, having worked for some years in
Geneva. |

Received information on this web site from Esther
Wheatley plus an E-mail from Sarah, whose surname I do not know. As
you can see, I am from an elderly generation but with the assistance
of E's partner have become reasonably computer literate. Also received
info from Mrs. Betty Nineham whom I believe to be a member. I should
love to join the OGA but am no longer able to travel so all
communication would be by E-mail or post. Hope it would be possible
to join via post! Sorry, I am waffling, should have placed this
epistle in messages ! Great to be in contact. Cheers & Best
wishes to everyone involved. |
