NATIONAL TRANSPORT CONFERENCE 2008
Transport Policy in Transition
This year’s conference will reflect the significant challenges we face and the considerable debate that has been generated on potential directions that UK transport policy should be going.
On the one hand, some are arguing the environmental imperative of climate change demands more urgent and radical responses, whilst on the other hand, there seems to be a growing backlash against policies that have been pursued over the last decade.
The conference programme has been developed to allow this debate to be aired and to ask how transport professionals should go about delivering policy.
National Transport Conference History
Each year for 30 years the National Transport Conference and Exhibition was held in Nottingham and often described as the 'Nottingham Transport Conference'. In 2007 it moved to London and from the crowded Easter conference season to October.
The Conference has developed an enviable reputation for delivering high quality presentations and discussions around the latest thinking and practice in Transport and Planning and usually attracts a balanced audience of academics, Local Authority and consultancy practitioners.
As in the past the 2008 Conference is truly interprofessional with representatives on the Organising Committee from all the Professional bodies with an interest in transport i.e. CILT-UK, RTPI, IHT, TPS, TPN, ATCO, CPT-UK and PTEG
