Welcome to my Homepage.

When I decided to make use of this space, I couldn’t think what to do that was a bit different. I’m sure this isn’t unique but it reflects my feelings about two places I know well.

I grew up in Hawkinge and have many happy memories of the small friendly village it was from the 1940’s till the mid 1960’s.

I started work here at Swanton farm in 1968 and moved into a farm cottage a year later. I have often thought how lucky we are to live in such a peaceful place. It has a long and varied history so I’ve tried to find out as much as I can about it, including a summary of the changes I’ve seen in the last forty years.

I’d be delighted to receive any further information or corrections and happy to update these pages accordingly.

          Thanks for having a look,

                                                      Mike.
