Below are a few photographs taken during a trip to the Northern town of Kyrenia. In 1965 the authorities discouraged the use of photography for reasons of security. For example I was threatened with imprisonment
for pointing my camera at the Kyrenia Castle! During times of heightened tension, convoys through the Kyrenia pass were accompanied by armed escort.
