VULCANS PRACTICE DISPLAY FLYING
For a while RAF Marham was home on separate occasions to two Vulcan Bombers XL 462 and XH 558 which were used for flying displays at various air shows around the country in the 1980's.  XL 462 on retirement was purchased privately and placed on the civil register as G-VJET. It was hoped to restore it to flying condition, however the cost was prohibative. It was subsequently purchased by a group of private enthusiasts and now resides at Southend airport. The other Vulcan, XH558, is now world famous having after many years finally been restored to flying condition. It has recently successfully completed it's first flight and hopefully will appear once again on the air display scene during 2008.
The photographs below were taken during practice display flights.
