Unfortunately my stay in Singapore was only two complete days before I departed for Kuala Lumpur. Therefore I only had time to see the central part of the city and Sentosa island (formerly Blakang Mati). There is no doubt that Singapore is a fine modern dynamic city state, however most of the historic old Singapore has disappeared in the name of progress! As an ex seviceman who once knew Singapore so well, I left with very mixed feelings.
On the third day we travelled on, crossing the Causeway to Johore Bahru and taking the motorway for a short stop at Kluang.  Then onward again to Kuala Lumpur.
