RAF Wattisham during the early 1960's was a very active airfield. It was home to numbers 111, 56 and 41 squadrons. Additionally being a master diversion airfield there was a very active Station Flight which  handled a large number of visiting aircraft of all types. Some from different countries often arrived with little or no notice.
Station Flight also had it's own aircraft which were a mix of Meteor Mk's 7 and 8. plus a small number of Hunter T7 aircraft. It carried out not only first line operations but also second line inspections, maintenance and repairs to it's own aircraft. In effect it was almost Wattisham's fourth Squadron! The following pages not only depict Station Flights own aircraft and personnel but also a selection of different types of visiting aircraft.
My thanks to the following past members of the flight who have allowed me to use some of their photographs in addition to my own.
