A site being used for a GOC rally venue for the first time, rain and novice rally organisers (complete with L plates). Not a promising start it would seem, but things just got better and better for the fourteen units attending the Bo Peep rally.
The weather improved, although there was a very heavy bout of
luckily over night on the Sunday. Members who wanted to visit local and
not so local places of interest/friends/family, were able to get an
early start and therefore a full day if required, since we met in the
evenings rather than at coffee mornings.
On the Saturday evening our rally organisers Alison &
Mottram arranged a Phat (no this is not a spelling mistake) Pasty
evening. A social evening which gave everyone the chance to meet and
chat, was held in the rally marquee which was supplied by Keith
Wilkinson and the event marquee supplied by Alison & Chris, for
Cornish Pasties and Soup. The Pasties were supplied by The Phat Pasty
The quiz was won by Thelma & Colin and guess the weight of Dora the Cat by Pat Veitch. There were also small prizes for the first rally booking received and the first rally deposit received.
On the Monday evening a meal was arranged at The Great Western Arms in Aynho.
Many thanks to Alison & Chris (who I am sure can now tear up their L plates) who were helped by and Jackie & Dave Atkins and to Lorna Veitch for organising the raffle.
From Angela & Derek Ward.
Chris and Alison did very well to find The Western Arms at the last moment due to being let down by their first choice of venue.
We enjoyed a great evening of good food and good ambience. We
all in the same room which led to great deal of fun and laughter –
especially when Pat gave his thank you speech.
A fitting end to a great rally.
