Peterborough 2010

We arrived on 20th May, a hot and sunny day, and that's how the weather stayed reaching 30c on Sunday.  15 vans on this rally.

This touring park is “exclusively for adults” and set on a very flat field, (which we are told is the norm for Lincolnshire) from the local “Yellow bellies” Sylvia and Keith.

Thursday evening we were made welcome with cakes baked by Lorna, and given information on what was on offer in the area.

Coffee mornings were held outside the marquee, Friday evening we had a Fish & chip supper and most evenings a group spent time outside chatting and enjoying the mild weather.

Days were spent visiting the local places of interest, far too many to mention them all, but these included market day (Friday) in Stamford, Burghley House,Bourne,Spalding with Springfield's garden centre, and a discount outlet, plus a trip on the water taxi into town, to name just a few of the attractions in this part of Lincolnshire.

Sunday, lunch carvery at the local pub The Baskerville, in Baston and then back to the site, with most of the Gobur owners' making full use of the shade  from their vans, to sit quietly or was that because most were having a nap ?

Gordon was very happy, having spent time fishing in the camp site pool, on his last afternoon, he caught a very large golden carp. Well done Gordon.

All to soon the rally was over, and the vans were heading to various locations, one close by and another over the water to Holland.

Thanks, Lorna, Pat, Sylvia and Keith, for running a super rally in such glorious weather.
