Lychett Manor Rally 2011

Twelve vans arrived for the Rally at South Lytchett Manor run by Joy Stovell & Peter Silverthorne.

Two new members joined us, Gillian and Gordon Scott, it was their very first rally.

We arrived on Thursday in lovely sunshine, which continued more or less until Monday when the wind got up.

Pretty site with easy access to Poole and surrounding areas.  A bus stopped outside the site entrance to take you to Poole.  Rather misleadingly, the site brochure stated `frequent bus service` ….once an hour!!  Nevertheless we used it twice to go to Poole saving fuel and parking charges so happy to wait.

We had coffee mornings and coffee evenings as diplomatic Joy and Peter wanted to keep everyone happy.  Some evenings we were allowed to have it in the games room.  Gillian Moss brought some delicious cakes for us all, which made a change from the biscuits.

Saturday night we went for a meal at the local café come restaurant in the Craft Centre just the other side of the field.  Being a complete coward, I (Wendy) wouldn’t walk across the field because there were young bulls in there, but everyone else did.

Sunday morning Joy and Peter led a few people on a walk.

Monday we had a lovely meal at a local pub called St. Peter’s Finger in Lytchett Minster.

Peter had a fight with his day tent. As he took it down the wind caught it and it nearly joined the tents in the next field.

A lovely rally with perfect hosts.
