What a lovely site, set within a Georgian walled garden in the
grounds of Thorpe Hall. Well worth a visit.
were greeted by David who helped us and everyone else in selecting
their pitch and settling in. The coffee mornings held in the games room
were the usual place to chat and exchange experiences and places to
visit. The area is well served with cycle routes and a number of
members took advantage of this - we non-cyclists met up with
in various places. The “local” was well patronised both for drinking
and eating and was very welcoming. We had a great Saturday evening with
a quiz, a game of Gobur – (just ask if you want to know), and horse
racing. The eventual winning team was Tom and Helena Bushell and Dave
and Christine Kenyon. The quiz was also won by the Bushells. The raffle
was won by the Tailbys who seem to be making a habit of this! We had
some new members with us , Arthur and Dorothy Bell – nice to see them.
Eighteen units attended the rally.
The weather was mostly very kind, how many people have walked Flamborough Head on a sunny, calm, warm day?- Stanley particularly enjoyed this. The efforts of David and Christine, ably assisted by Maurice and Clare added up to a delightful, relaxing time in a beautiful part of the country.
