Kirkgunzeon Rally 2014

13 Goburs headed across the border to attend the rally at Mossband caravan Park, Kirkgunzeon, Scotland, organised by Steve and Yvonne Jones and very ably assisted by Dickie and Annette Dawson.

The site was small with lovely views of the hills. Wednesday, day one of the rally saw sunshine as did the rest of week, yes we really were in Scotland. Yvonne and Steve exercised their chef skills and a meal was prepared for us all on Wednesday evening. We finished this off with a wickedly scrummy chocolate mousse. We had coffee evenings to allow us to get out early and to compensate for the evenings drawing in early.

On Saturday we had an American supper and there was a lovely selection of food. We played a couple of games, then there was a big surprise for us [Jackie and Dave].  In April we had our silver wedding and decided we would try and go on as many rallies as possible, which was how we wanted to celebrate the event by being with friends. Angela ward had secretly asked Rosemary Aylott to make us a cake and we were presented with it on the Saturday evening. We had, had a perfect day out that day and it really was a perfect way to finish it. Thank you so much Angela and Rosemary for a wonderful surprise.

On Tuesday evening we had meal at Threave house, a property and gardens of the National Trust for Scotland. Some of us arrived early to see the gardens and they were lovely. We were all given a tour of the house followed by our meal in the dining room where the view from the window gave a fantastic panorama of the hills.

Well done Yvonne, Steve, Annette and Dickie, it was a great rally
