Bere Regis Rally 2015

12 Gobur Carousels gathered at the Rowlands Wait camp site, Bere Regis ,Dorset .

Two new couples attended who were on their first rally and it was nice to meet them. True to form, Joy and Peters rally was very relaxed on a lovely site with much attention given to wildlife. There was one squirrel who was very friendly and came into our caravan, I don't know who was more surprised us or the squirrel.

There were many attractions in the area and on the Monday 14 of us went to the Bovington Tank Museum which wasn’t too far away and was very Interesting.

We had fish and chips on the Saturday night and a meal at the Drax Arms in Bere Regis on the Monday.

Some of us wondered where the name Drax came from, so we contacted our friend who was born at Bere and she was able to tell us the origin of the name. Drax is an old family name from that part of Dorset coming from the gentry. We established that there is a Conservative Party politician for South Dorset named Richard Drax who is the latest family member.

It was a lovely rally.

Many thanks to Joy and Peter.

Jackie and Dave Atkins.
