A beautiful sunny day saw 13 units arrive at Diamond Farm, significant perhaps, as the 1st full day there was Friday 13th!! We were greeted by Joy & Peter who produced a welcome cup of tea or coffee at each pitch on a very attractive site.
The bar room was available for us to meet in and we all enjoyed a welcome drink and get together on Thursday evening.
Five of us went on a country walk led by Joy & Peter on Friday afternoon in warm spring sunshine. That evening the bar room was used for some lively team games and quiz. Some colourful “his ‘n hers” plates were put to use for a takeaway on Saturday together with a bird names quiz and telegram writing game, the latter producing some amazing texts.
Sunday’s coffee meet was full of “oohs” and “aahs” as the elusive answers to the dingbat quiz were revealed. The last evening on site saw the local Blacks Head Inn well and truly “Goberised” *
We would all like to thank Joy and Peter for making the rally so enjoyable and also Mary for running a raffle, the proceeds going to Richard’s charity fund raising.
Carol West (alias the paper girl)
*The hospitality we received at the Black’s head pub in was excellent. The delicious food arrived in the biggest white china dinner bowls we've ever seen! However most of the bowls were returned to the kitchen empty and some of us even had room for one of the tempting desserts.
Angela Ward (who, of course, found the white chocolate dessert much too tempting!!)
