24 Goburs found their way through the lanes to “Field Barn Park” on the hills south of Bourton on the Water. Having left the lanes & entered the site down a long farm track, the rally field was in a slight dip, sheltered from south & west winds by high hedges.
All arrived safely, in hot humid weather- so most were content to relax ( after erecting caravans and awnings) to enjoy the weather and the tranquillity of the site. Many thanks to Pat and Lorna for their assistance on the day. Pat's electric bike came is very useful ! For the Welcome evening the sun was still warm, allowing members to chat and socialise until after sunset.
Coffee mornings were held in the marquee and our thanks to those who helped with these giving us time to chat with members. Very much appreciated.
Members made full use of the goodies that were for sale in the kitchen area, ice creams being the most popular. Not quite sure if Vic managed to try all the flavours.
By Saturday, the weather was still dry but beginning to cool- several owners made use of the local footpaths; walking into Bourton to enjoy this picturesque village with the River Windrush passing side-by side with the High Street.
Saturday (July 4th) an American pud evening was arranged, this caused some confusion, but the puds were supplied (not the usual American Supper). Again the weather co-operated and we had an enjoyable evening tasting pancakes with syrup and cream, plus muffins and cookies.
Monday thundery showers were beginning to appear- but the site stayed dry and we watched rain pass either side- most were lucky in exploring the Cotswold's and did not need umbrellas.
The rain finally caught up with us on Tuesday - a long downpour late in the afternoon finished just in time to allow us a dry journey to the village of Great Rissington and “The Lamb Inn” for the Rally meal. The food was hot and tasty and our party of 39 were served efficiently to give us a pleasurable end to this rally.

Dear Kate
Thank you and your hubby for your hospitality and allowing me to be so nosy and view your lovely caravan. Loved it now working on the old man.
We had a lovely week in the Cotswold's, meeting yourselves and the rest of the members, it was a welcome treat, all so very friendly, we had some good banter and enjoyed every minute. I hope the weather was kind to you when we left.
Wishing you all happy caravanning, it would be nice to meet up with you all again sometime.
Ann,Nick and the westies.
